• Welcome to My Creative Year!

Thanks so much for coming to see what I've been up to. I'm in the midst of a self-challenge to *create* for a year straight. I needed something to fill a weird void I was feeling, and exploring different styles of art and creativity seems to fit the bill! So, Welcome! I'm glad you've come for a visit...
  • Heartfelt Thanks

I don't always have a chance to thank everyone who leaves such lovely comments on my projects. I just want to express my appreciation for your encouragement and compliments on my creative journey. You are all greatly appreciated!

Makin’ a list…

And checking it way more than twice!

It’s getting to be that time of year.  Christmas presents need to be thought about, planned for, purchased and made.  I’m going to do my best to make a vast majority of the gifts this year, and those I can’t make myself I will try to buy from independent sources.

While I don’t really have a post for the AEDM Challenge today, I have (at least) thought about creativity and upcoming projects.  And I also spent some time at JoAnn Fabrics, as well as a local book store buying creativity books.  So does that count?  I say it does, so sure.  🙂

Here’s my booty:

I bought some fabric for a couple of patchwork projects I want to make for my two best friends and my sister.  And since they visit here upon ocassion, I’m not going to mention what they are.  But maybe I’ll post some pictures if they promise not to peek until Christmas.  🙂

I was kind of bummed, but I couldn’t find any wool felt at JoAnn.  I may have to go to one of the little independent fabric shops in town to see if they have some.  I’d really like to make a couple projects with it, and add some of my new-found embroidery love to it.  For instance, look at the mittens on the cover of one of my new books (“Heart Felt” on the top left):

Don’t those look cozy and scrumptous?  I wanna make some!  Maybe for added presents, but definitely a pair for me!  That book is just filled with wonderful wool felt projects.  It really looks like a fun fiber to work with.

So while I didn’t actually *create* anything today, sometimes the act of buying art and craft supplies is just as fun as using them.  But I’ll start on some of the projects tomorrow night.  And I do intend to add embroidery to each and every one!  🙂

Ho Ho Ho!  Here we Goooooo!
