• Welcome to My Creative Year!

Thanks so much for coming to see what I've been up to. I'm in the midst of a self-challenge to *create* for a year straight. I needed something to fill a weird void I was feeling, and exploring different styles of art and creativity seems to fit the bill! So, Welcome! I'm glad you've come for a visit...
  • Heartfelt Thanks

I don't always have a chance to thank everyone who leaves such lovely comments on my projects. I just want to express my appreciation for your encouragement and compliments on my creative journey. You are all greatly appreciated!

Silver Challenge

From Inspire Me Thursday‘s challenge this week: “Silver”

From the board book that I’m altering into my Mom’s reliquary, I had two pages that were a bit chewed up that I cut off the top of the book.  I’ve been using them as templates for paper cutting and what-not with the reliquary project, but tonight I just grabbed them and used them for this challenge.

I covered them in tin foil and taped around the edges, then added the picture of Andy & Edie, Andy’s Banana, his signature and a crystal…  I’m calling this one The Factory, inspired by Andy Warhol’s Silver Factory on East 47th in Midtown Manhattan in the mid-1960s. (I just watched Ciao! Manhattan this past weekend – which was Edie Sedgwick’s last movie – so the whole scene’s been on my mind for the past few days).

So nothing deep and meaningful for today’s challenge – just a little bit of fun and creativity on the fly with Edie and Andy.  I even like how Edie’s wearing silver pants in this picture.  🙂

(Hmmmm, perhaps I’ll go throw on some Velvet Underground just to keep the vibe going…)
