• Welcome to My Creative Year!

Thanks so much for coming to see what I've been up to. I'm in the midst of a self-challenge to *create* for a year straight. I needed something to fill a weird void I was feeling, and exploring different styles of art and creativity seems to fit the bill! So, Welcome! I'm glad you've come for a visit...
  • Heartfelt Thanks

I don't always have a chance to thank everyone who leaves such lovely comments on my projects. I just want to express my appreciation for your encouragement and compliments on my creative journey. You are all greatly appreciated!

This weekend’s art project

Wine Collage

I love red wine.  Particularly French wines from the Bordeaux and Rhone regions.  Tasty, wonderful delights!  So when I come across a wine that I really like, I’m always afraid I’ll forget which Chateau it came from, so I soak the label off the bottle before depositing it in the recycling bin.  That way I can rifle through the stack when I’m on a mission for the next bottle to savor.

Needless to say, I have a stack of wine labels that I rarely refer to.  They’ve been stored in a Mason jar for some time now, just waiting for an opportunity to be used.  Henceforth, this week’s art project.

Veuve CliquotA cork from a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne.  Not a red wine, but still worth its weight in gold!

Wine Collage

The makings of my project – a selection of wine labels, corks, glass beads, scrapbooking art and a swizzle stick from the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans.  The whole thing was placed in a puter frame with rhinestone embellishments that I picked up at one of the local discount chains.
